مسيرات نيالا.. موت في الأسواق ورعب يطارد المدنيين

Sudan, November 06 (Darfur24)

Drone attacks by the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) killed civilians and damaged homes, vehicles and fuel facilities across Sudan this week, with reported strikes in Blue Nile, North Kordofan, South Kordofan and North Darfur.

In the most deadly incident, the death toll from an RSF drone strike on the Nawafil fuel station in Taqali al-Abbasiya, South Kordofan, rose to more than 19 civilians after three people wounded in the attack died from their injuries, local sources told Darfur24.

The drone struck the station on Monday while it was operating and crowded with people queuing for fuel. Sources said 16 people were initially killed, before three injured victims later died in hospital.

In Blue Nile State, an RSF drone attack on Damazin on Tuesday killed at least two people, including a student who later died from his injuries, according to local sources and a statement by Al-Salam Model Secondary School. The school identified the student as Ibrahim Adam Abdullah Khalid.

The attack also killed Ilham Ali Shikan, a mother of three, and injured another woman, Amal Bashir, when a drone struck a civilian home in the Al-Zuhur neighbourhood, local sources said.

Several homes were damaged in the city, while other civilians, including members of a teacher’s family, sustained fractures and other injuries. Sources also reported damage to homes in the army barracks area and the Al-Ray neighbourhood.

In North Kordofan, two people were killed and several others injured when a drone believed to belong to the Sudanese army struck a civilian Land Cruiser near Um Badr on Sunday evening. Eyewitnesses said the vehicle was travelling from Al-Naim market to Um Badr when it was hit, killing the driver, Mohammed Salem Rabah, and another passenger.

Another Sudanese army drone strike killed two people on Sunday in Al-Malha locality, North Darfur, after hitting a commercial vehicle carrying passengers and goods in the Wadi Majrur area. Volunteers identified the victims as trader Mohammed Musa Bakhit Takras and the driver, Ali Ismail.

Meanwhile, a drone believed to belong to the RSF fired four missiles at the Al-Mithaq and Nawafil fuel stations in central Al-Rahad Abu Dakna, North Kordofan, at around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, destroying both facilities without causing casualties, local sources told Darfur24.

The attacks come amid growing reliance on drones by both sides in the conflict, with strikes increasingly affecting civilian areas, commercial transport and essential infrastructure.

The United Nations has warned that attacks on fuel and energy facilities disrupt access to water, healthcare and food, while also hampering humanitarian operations. Fuel shortages and damage to essential infrastructure pose additional risks to civilians already facing severe humanitarian conditions.
