Kauda, November 30 (Darfur24)

The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM-N), led by Abdel Aziz al-Hilu, announced on Saturday that 45 civilians were killed in an airstrike that hit the Komo area, east of Kauda in South Kordofan State.

Kauda is considered the main stronghold of the SPLM-N, which is allied with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the ongoing conflict with the Sudanese army.

In a statement obtained by Darfur24, the movement said the strike killed 45 people, most of them school students, and left more than eight others seriously injured, including women and children. The SPLM-N said the attack was carried out by a drone, describing it as a “massacre against students.”

The statement added that civilians in areas under the movement’s control have been subjected to “systematic targeting” for years.

The attack comes amid a sharp escalation in military operations across South Kordofan, where field alliances between the RSF and the SPLM-N have intensified fighting with the Sudanese army.
