The Sudanese Agency for Relief and Humanitarian Operations( SARHO)in West Darfur received 67 trucks carrying food and medical aid on Wednesday, en route to the Tawila area in North Darfur State, in addition to 30 trucks bound for West Kordofan State.

Dwalbeit Adam Yaqoub, Director SARHO in West Darfur, said in press statements that the trucks came through Sudan- Chad Adre crossing.

The trucks carry relief and medical supplies bound for the Tawila area in North Darfur State, and another 30 destined to West Kordofan State.

Dwalbeit affirmed SARHO’s readiness to coordinate with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF)and Civilian Protection Forces to protect and secure humanitarian convoys targeting those in need in Darfur and Kordofan States.

He pointed out that the need remains great and that the humanitarian aid provided by organizations does not exceed 5%.

Dwalbeit revealed that West Darfur State has received more than 18,000 displaced families who fled their areas in Gezira and Khartoum states, in addition to 12,000 families in El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur State. He noted the presence of deaths among children and the elderly.
