Al-Junaynah, July 16 (Darfur24)
Nearly 600 people were displaced from Kulbus locality in West Darfur State between July 10 and 13 due to escalating insecurity, according to the International Organization for Migration’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM).
The DTM estimated that 595 people fled the town of Kulbus and the villages of Wadi Bardi, Duhosh and Adarib.
Most displaced families moved to other areas within Kulbus locality, while others crossed the border into neighboring Chad.
The latest displacement follows renewed fighting between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese army and allied joint force.
The army-allied force announced it had captured Kulbus in late June, but the RSF launched a new offensive in early July and said it had retaken the town, triggering fresh displacement.
The DTM said the security situation remains tense and highly volatile. It added that it will continue monitoring developments and publishing regular updates on displacement across Sudan.
