Qulu, April 01 (Darfur24)
An official from the Sudan Liberation Movement, led by Abdul Wahid Mohamed Nour, revealed that efforts are underway with international partners to hold the Sudanese Certificate exams in Jebel Marra.
A senior official in the movement’s civilian authority told Darfur24 they are coordinating with the government in Port Sudan through UNICEF, UNESCO, the European Union, and the “National Initiative to Save Sudanese Certificate Students” to organize exams in areas under their control.
He revealed that meetings were held on Monday with international organizations and the Ministry of Education to discuss holding unified exams across Sudan, adding that the movement is taking into account the concerns of students and parents.
The official acknowledged that many students have been traveling to eastern Sudan to sit the exams, with hundreds still stranded, but said efforts to arrange exams locally are ongoing.
However, parents in Jebel Marra expressed doubts about the seriousness of these plans, saying uncertainty has pushed them to send their children on risky journeys to eastern Sudan to secure their academic future.
