Port Sudan – Darfur 24

Port Sudan International Airport in eastern Sudan was attacked by drones on Sunday morning, forcing authorities to suspend flights.

The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, inspected Port Sudan Airport hours after the attack.

Army spokesman Brigadier General Nabil Abdullah said that the Rapid Support Forces launched an attack with suicide drones on Osman Digna Air Base, a cargo warehouse, and some civilian facilities in Port Sudan.

He reported that anti-aircraft missiles shot down a number of drones, while others caused limited damage.

He indicated that the damage resulted from the targeting of an ammunition depot at Osman Digna Air Base, which caused scattered explosions without any casualties.

The attack comes one day after a similar attack on Nyala International Airport.
