Nairobi, December 31 (Darfur24)

Chadian security forces have arrested eight members of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the Chadian border city of Tine after they entered Chadian territory under unclear circumstances.

Sources told Darfur24 that Chadian authorities detained the eight armed men after they crossed the border in a combat vehicle.

According to the sources, the soldiers became lost in the desert and were separated from their unit before inadvertently crossing into Chadian territory while attempting to find their way.

The sources added that Chadian authorities have launched investigations into the incident and are preparing to transfer the detainees to the city of Amdjarass to complete legal and administrative procedures ahead of their deportation.
