Um Badr, November 03 (Darfur24)
Two people were killed and several others injured on Sunday evening when a drone, believed to belong to the Sudanese army, struck a civilian vehicle near Um Badr in North Kordofan State, eyewitnesses told Darfur24 on Monday.
The witnesses said the drone targeted a Land Cruiser travelling from Al-Naim market to Um Badr, killing the driver, Mohammed Salem Rabah, and another passenger. Other people aboard the vehicle sustained varying injuries.
The attack is the latest in a series of drone strikes targeting civilian vehicles in the Kordofan region, amid escalating military confrontations between the warring parties.
Both sides have increasingly used drones to strike civilian targets, including commercial vehicles, markets, hospitals, and power stations, resulting in civilian deaths and damage to infrastructure.
