Nyala, September 24 (Darfur24)
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have allegedly arrested three displaced persons in Manawashi, a town located about 77 km north of Nyala, the capital of South Darfur State, local sources told Darfur24 on Tuesday.
The detainees were identified as Hamad Adam Ali, Lt. Al-Zubair Bakhit, and Abdali. Two of them reside in displacement camps in Manawashi, while the third is from the Karmji area east of the town.
According to the sources, RSF intelligence detained the three young men eight days ago on accusations of collaborating with the Sudanese army. Efforts by community leaders to negotiate their release were unsuccessful, and the detainees have been transferred to RSF detention centers in Nyala.
Residents in towns north of Nyala said groups allied with the RSF have recently filed malicious and incitement-based complaints against civilians, leading to a rise in arbitrary arrests.
