Al-Junaynah, December 13 (Darfur24)
Four people were killed in clashes between herders and farmers in the town of Al-Sayyah, North Darfur State, after camel herds entered cultivated farmland, local sources said.
Sources told Darfur24 that camel owners drove their livestock into farms belonging to farmers believed to be from the Midob community, triggering disputes that escalated into armed confrontations and an exchange of gunfire.
The clashes resulted in the deaths of two herders and two farmers before the Rapid Support Forces intervened, brought the situation under control, and detained the remaining herders involved.
Local authorities later stepped in to contain the tensions, disperse gatherings, and restore calm. The bodies were recovered and buried, and the area was secured.
Sources confirmed that the case has been referred to the relevant authorities, with legal procedures underway in accordance with established protocols.
