Al-Tina, April 02 (Darfur24)

An emergency response group in the Sudanese border town of Al-Tina, near Chad, has distributed food baskets to about 178 families in the Hami area, amid worsening humanitarian conditions.

The Al-Tina Emergency Room said the initiative was carried out with support from the North Darfur Emergency Rooms Council, targeting displaced families in urgent need of assistance.

A member of the group told Darfur24 that, despite difficult economic and security conditions, they were able to deliver essential food items, including flour, sugar, pasta, and onions.

He added that hundreds of displaced people fleeing violence in North Darfur remain scattered across forests and desert areas, facing acute shortages of food, clothing, shelter materials, and medicine.

The group called on humanitarian organizations to urgently scale up support, warning that vulnerable populations, particularly the elderly, are in critical need of food, water, and healthcare.
