Kabkabiya, October 20 (Darfur24)
Four sources confirmed on Monday that six members of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) were killed and others injured in an airstrike on Kabkabiya, located about 155 km west of El Fasher in North Darfur.
An eyewitness said the strike targeted the police headquarters in the Shartai neighborhood with a missile, killing five RSF members and wounding several others. Two military vehicles were also destroyed.
He added that a second missile hit the industrial school west of the city, which the RSF was using as a recruitment center. One soldier was killed and others were injured in that attack.
According to the witness, the drone continued flying over the city for more than 30 minutes after the strikes, and the RSF did not fire any anti-aircraft weapons.
Another source reported that the wounded were transported out of the city in ambulances, while the RSF imposed a strict security cordon around the targeted areas, preventing citizens from accessing streets leading to the Shartai and Al-Safa neighborhoods.
The same source added that RSF intelligence detained four young men from the Shartai neighborhood on accusations of providing coordinates to the Sudanese army. They were taken to the 21st Brigade headquarters, which serves as the RSF’s main base in the city.
Darfur 24 was unable to obtain the names of the detainees from independent sources.
