Al-Mazroub, October 03 (Darfur24)

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) withdrew from the town of Al-Mazroub in North Kordofan State following limited clashes with the Sudanese army and the joint force supporting it on Friday, local sources said.

Mutawakkil Ali Wakil, spokesperson for the joint force, told Darfur24 that the army and joint force took control of Al-Mazroub after the RSF withdrew to areas outside the town.

The development comes a week after the Sudanese army announced that it had taken control of Sodari locality following limited clashes with the RSF and its withdrawal from the area.

Darfur24 could not get a comment from the RSF on its withdrawal from Al-Mazroub or the reported takeover by the army and joint force.

Several areas in North Kordofan have seen fighting between the army, allied joint forces, and the RSF as both sides seek to expand their territorial control.
