Al-Dabba, March 20 (Darfur24)

Residents in the city of Al-Dabba in Northern State reported that the city was subjected to an aerial attack on Friday by a drone believed to belong to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), targeting military facilities and leaving three people injured, in addition to causing damage to parts of the targeted buildings.

The executive director of Al-Dabba locality, Muhammad Sabir, confirmed in brief press statements that injuries occurred following the targeting of military sites in the city.

An eyewitness told Darfur24 that a drone flew over the city for more than two hours, during which it struck the headquarters of the security cell at the College of Engineering and a facility affiliated with the General Intelligence Service.

The witness added that the drone flew at low altitude over parts of the city and near Al-Afad camp for displaced persons, about 12 kilometers away, causing fear and panic among residents and displaced families.

A displaced resident, Farah Adam, said the camp was not directly targeted, but explosions were heard from the direction of the city in the early morning hours. He added that the drone flew over both the city and the camp and fired several missiles that hit locations inside Al-Dabba.

The incident comes amid the ongoing conflict in Sudan since April 2023 between the Sudanese army and allied forces on one side and the Rapid Support Forces on the other, where drone strikes have increasingly been used to target both military and civilian areas.
