Al-Tina, February 24 (Darfur24)

Fierce clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces continued for a third consecutive day in the border town of Al-Tina, local sources reported.

Sources said a large RSF force led by commander Bashir Bush launched an assault from the southwest on Saturday, advancing into parts of the town before renewing attacks on Sunday and Monday.

A source within the joint force supporting the army stated that RSF fighters launched a third wave of attacks from the eastern and southeastern directions, adding that the army and allied defenses successfully repelled the advance.

The source also reported RSF drone strikes on military positions inside Al-Tina, resulting in casualties among army personnel.

A military source said that RSF forces captured the town of Qadir on Monday, approximately 30 kilometers east of Al-Tina, after fighters from the Justice and Equality Movement, led by Jibril Ibrahim, withdrew from the area.

In neighboring Chad, a resident of the border town of Al-Tina said a Chadian soldier related to him was killed along with 12 other soldiers and three civilians following an attack on a military site southeast of the town. He said the victims were later buried in a military ceremony attended by members of the Chadian army and residents.

Chadian authorities have not issued an official statement, and Darfur24 could not independently verify the reported incident.

Videos circulated by joint force fighters showed the seizure of RSF vehicles, while other footage appeared to show the pursuit of RSF elements toward the southeast.

The towns of Karnoi and Ambro, along with Al-Tina, remain among the last positions held by the army and allied forces in Darfur after RSF advances across much of the region, including the capture of El Fasher last October.
