Kordofan, January 15 (Darfur24)

Sources told Darfur24 that extrajudicial killings linked to looting and robbery have claimed four lives in the past ten days in Al-Nahud locality, West Kordofan State, amid a sharp deterioration in security.

According to sources, two murders were recorded in Al-Nahud city since the beginning of January. In the first incident, gunmen attacked a house in the Al-Ashar neighborhood, killing the resident instantly with live ammunition. Motives for the attack remain unclear. In a separate case, a man who had been missing for three days from the Al-Azhar neighborhood was later found murdered inside the Aden market area.

Two additional killings were reported in Fuga, an area administratively linked to Al-Nahud. Sources said armed men attacked a cowherd at night; his body was discovered the following day, while the perpetrators remain at large. In another incident, gunmen intercepted a livestock trader on his way home and killed him during an attempted robbery.

Residents who spoke to Darfur24 expressed alarm over the worsening security situation, citing a rise in lawlessness by armed groups in the area.

Herders and traders said movement at night has become increasingly dangerous due to frequent looting incidents and the growing presence of bandits across parts of West Kordofan State.
