Adré, December 20, (Darfur24)

Chadian authorities have arrested four young Sudanese refugees in the Adré area of eastern Chad after accusing them of approaching and attempting to photograph a military site, local sources told Darfur24.

The sources said the four men, residents of the Adré refugee camp, were on their way to the livestock market to purchase supplies when they were stopped after passing near the military location.

They were later charged with photographing a military site after authorities suspected them of taking pictures of out-of-service military vehicles located near the market, the sources added.

The incident comes amid worsening security conditions in Sudanese refugee camps in eastern Chad, where refugees continue to face severe humanitarian challenges and repeated security violations, including attacks by local groups.
