Kordofan, December 11 (Darfur24)
Residents of Wadbanda locality in West Kordofan State, which is under the control of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), have reported widespread looting at gunpoint by armed men.
Citizens told Darfur24 that the area is experiencing growing security chaos amid an apparent lack of decisive action from the authorities in control.
Sources confirmed that armed robberies targeting homes are taking place almost daily, with residents held at gunpoint. They alleged that RSF members are involved in the attacks, and said their repeated complaints to RSF commanders have gone unanswered.
The same sources added that some residents have resisted the robberies, leading to at least three injuries over the past three weeks, including leg fractures and other bodily harm.
Sources also reported a lack of cooperation from local authorities, noting that when residents detain suspected criminals and hand them over to RSF leadership, the detainees are released the following day without accountability or follow-up.
