Identical sources from the town of El Kuma, located 78 kilometers northeast of El Fasher, North Darfur State, revealed on Saturday the formation of the first civic administration for the Rapid Support Forces in the state.

A civil society leader told Darfur 24 that a delegation from the Sudan Founding Alliance (Tasis ), led by Ahmed Al-Obeid and Abdullah Jumaa Al-Nour, supervisor of the formation of civil administrations in North Darfur, arrived in Al-Koma.

He indicated that the delegation held a series of meetings with civil administration leaders and youth representatives, which resulted in the selection of Ahmed Mohamed Ismail Ahmed as head of the civil administration and Mubarak Mohamed Adam Saleh as its executive director on Friday.

He explained that Al-Koma residents welcomed the establishment of the new administration, expressing their hope that it would contribute to improving services within the locality.

A volunteer in the city stated that the move would facilitate the provision of health and education services and gradually restore normal life, especially after the city was subjected to intense aerial bombardment during the recent period.

He added, “Citizens have previously called on the Rapid Support Forces to establish a civil administration, similar to what they have done in other areas under their control in the Darfur region.”

It is worth noting that the Rapid Support Forces have established civil administrations in the states of South Kordofan and Blue Nile. West, East, and Central Darfur over the past year.

The city of El Fasher, along with three localities in North Darfur, remains under the control of the army and allied armed movements, while the Sudan Liberation Movement, led by Abdel Wahid al-Nur, controls Tawila locality.
