Four people were killed and six others, including three children, were injured on Tuesday as the Rapid Support Forces (RSF)renewed artillery shelling on the market in the Abu Shouk camp for internally displaced persons in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur.

The city has witnessed relative calm following violent clashes last Thursday, prompting the majority of residents to visit the camp market these days.

Eyewitnesses told Darfur 24 that RSF renewed their artillery shelling of El Fasher on Tuesday, targeting the Abu Shouk camp market for internally displaced persons with approximately 30 shells, resulting in civilian casualties.

Mahmoud Adam Ishaq, a merchant at the Abu Shouk camp market, told Darfur 24 that the shelling targeted various parts of the camp market, killing four people and wounding six others, including three children who were transferred to the Saudi Hospital , while others were transferred to health centers near the camp.

Darfur 24 spotted flight of dozens from the camp market as the artillery shelling resumed on Tuesday.

RSF are launching ongoing attacks on El Fasher in an attempt to seize the last stronghold of the Sudanese army in the Darfur region, forcing thousands of families to flee their homes in search of security, food, and medicine.
