Nyala , Darfur 24

Local sources and eyewitnesses in Nyala, South Darfur State, reported on Monday that drones strike targeted Rapid Support Forces (RSF ) main supply depot in the city.

Eyewitnesses from the airport neighborhood told Darfur 24 that they heard a loud explosion in the early hours of Sunday morning, with smoke rising towards the factories northeast of the neighborhood.

Three identical sources told Darfur 24 that a drone targeted a Rapid Support Forces military supply premises in the courtyard of a warehouse located west of the Qadra fuel station and north of the Sega Grain Factory, in addition to targeting the vicinity of Nyala International Airport east of the city.

They added: “The bombing resulted in injuries among the RSF personnel stationed at the site.”

The sources stated that the courtyard is used as a logistics center for supplying RSFpersonnel on various battlefronts, as well as for the assembly and deployment of fighters.

This is the second strike within 24 hours by an unidentified drone targeting RSFgatherings in the student dormitory in the Mose suburb, south of Nyala.

During May and June, unidentified drones targeted vital RSF sites inside and outside Nyala, including the Al-Daman Hotel, a building adjacent to the RSF command center, RSF gatherings in front of Nyala Military Hospital, the Kashalungu and Demo camps in Bulbul Tembesko, Nyala University in the Mose suburb, and Nyala International Airport, which has been targeted more than once.

These strikes come after the Sudanese military’s air force halted its flights since the downing of an Antonov aircraft in February of this year by the RSF, which controls South Darfur state.
