Kadugli, October 29 (Darfur24)

Drone attacks believed to have been carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) destroyed Kadugli’s power station and the Nile Petroleum fuel depot in the city center of South Kordofan State on Wednesday, without causing casualties, local sources told Darfur24.

Sources in Kadugli said the drones struck the two facilities in the afternoon, while a separate shell landed near the Grand Market without causing injuries or deaths.

The attacks come amid a wider wave of strikes on electricity infrastructure across Sudan.

Early Tuesday, drones struck the Al-Murkhiyat power substation northwest of Omdurman, forcing it offline and causing power outages in parts of Khartoum. The disruption raised concerns about potential effects on water supplies and other essential services.

On Monday, the Sudan Electricity Holding Company reported drone attacks on the Sinja, Al-Hawata, Al-Faw, Mashkour and Al-Junaid power stations. The company said the strikes caused the southeastern electricity network to go dark, threatening the stability of the national grid.

Attacks on electricity infrastructure risk disrupting essential services, including water supplies, healthcare and other public services that depend on reliable power.
