Damazin, October 03 (Darfur24)

Drones targeted several sites in Damazin, the capital of Sudan’s Blue Nile region, on Saturday morning, including the headquarters of the Fourth Infantry Division and the home of the regional governor, military sources said.

Sources told Darfur24 that the home of Blue Nile Governor Ahmed Al-Umda Badi was among the sites struck. The governor was in Khartoum on official business at the time of the attack, the sources said.

Images circulating after the attack showed damage to the governor’s residence.

The sources attributed the attack to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), but Darfur24 could not independently verify the claim.

The extent of the damage and whether the attack caused casualties remain unclear.

The Blue Nile region has recently emerged as a major conflict hotspot following attacks by an alliance involving the RSF and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North. The alliance has taken control of Kurmuk, Qaysan, and other areas in the region.
