Displaced people in shelters in Bilel locality, South Darfur State, have accused the Sudanese Relief and Humanitarian Operations Agency, affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), of a lack of transparency in the distribution of humanitarian assistance.
Bilel, east of Nyala, has received thousands of people fleeing fighting in Darfur, many of whom are living in shelters amid deteriorating humanitarian conditions and limited access to aid.
Three displaced people in one of the shelters told Darfur24 that they had lost confidence in the Sudanese Relief Agency, alleging that humanitarian assistance delivered by aid organizations was not being distributed fairly among displaced people.
The displaced people also reported the disappearance of a humanitarian aid truck carrying supplies intended for displaced communities in the locality. They stated that they had raised the matter with the local administration and security authorities, demanding an investigation into the truck’s whereabouts.
The allegations come as thousands of people displaced by fighting across Darfur continue to face worsening humanitarian conditions, with humanitarian organizations struggling to meet growing needs amid limited aid and continued insecurity.
