Rabak, April 29 (Darfur24)
Drone strikes believed to have been carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) killed and injured multiple people, including soldiers and civilians, in the cities of Rabak and Kosti in White Nile State on Tuesday, according to military and local sources.
A Sudanese army source told Darfur24 that a strike targeted the rear headquarters of the joint force affiliated with armed movements in Rabak, killing at least six people, including two officers, and seriously injuring eight others. The attack reportedly destroyed two combat vehicles.
Supporters of the joint force confirmed the deaths of Major Musa Ahmadai, known as “Ikenwa,” and First Lieutenant Al-Mahi, though the casualty numbers have not been verified.
A medical source in Kosti said a separate strike hit a shop in Rabak, killing four civilians, including the shop owner, Salah Mohamed Abdo, and a man identified as Mukber, near Al-Khujalabi Mosque. Several others were injured and taken to the hospital.
In a related development, eyewitnesses reported that a drone also targeted Al-Amal Hospital in Jabal Awliya locality, south of Khartoum. Witnesses said the drone launched multiple missiles, triggering loud explosions and sending plumes of smoke into the sky, while anti-aircraft fire was heard across the area.
Darfur24 could not independently confirm casualties from the reported strike on the hospital.
Since the outbreak of war in April 2023, Sudan has seen sustained fighting between the Sudanese army and the RSF, with drones increasingly used in attacks that have affected both military positions and civilian locations.
