Save the Children has warned that medical supplies in several clinics in Sudan could run out within two weeks due to disruptions in global supply chains linked to the escalating conflict in the Middle East.

The organization stated that continued airspace closures and disruptions to key shipping routes, including those through the Strait of Hormuz, have delayed the delivery of essential medical shipments, threatening already fragile healthcare services.

It added that medicines and supplies worth around $600,000 remain stranded in ports in Dubai due to transportation disruptions, further complicating humanitarian operations.

The organization also highlighted rising shipping costs and shrinking humanitarian funding, which have reduced the capacity of aid groups to maintain supply flows at a time of increasing medical needs in Sudan.

It warned that without urgent alternative shipping arrangements, clinics could suspend critical services, putting thousands of patients at risk.
