One person was killed and four others were injured on Saturday morning when a drone targeted an oil pumping station in the Al-Mukhalif area of Al-Jabalain locality, White Nile State, according to sources in Jebalain locality in White Nile State.
Sources told Darfur24 that the strike hit facilities belonging to the oil refinery station, killing an engineer and wounding four workers. The attack also caused extensive damage to parts of the station’s infrastructure.
The Jebelain border zone, which includes the Joda crossing linking Sudan and South Sudan, is under the control of the Sudanese Armed Forces.
The attack comes just two days after drones struck the Heglig oil field in West Kordofan State, killing one engineer and injuring two other workers.
Since April 2023, Sudan has witnessed intense fighting between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, with both sides increasingly using drones to carry out attacks on civilian and military sites across areas under their control.
