Port Sudan, October 23 (Darfur24)
Sudanese Prime Minister Kamil Idris issued a decision on Wednesday, reducing passport issuance and renewal fees for Sudanese citizens abroad by 30 percent for a period of one month.
The decision, effective from November 1 to December 31, 2025, aims to ease financial burdens on Sudanese expatriates and encourage voluntary return, according to the Prime Minister’s office.
Currently, the Ministry of Finance charges $250 for issuing or renewing passports for Sudanese citizens living abroad, and $150 for children’s passports.
The decision directed relevant authorities to take the necessary measures to implement the reduction through Sudan’s diplomatic and consular missions worldwide.
According to the official news agency SUNA, Prime Minister Idris said the step reflects the government’s appreciation for the contributions of Sudanese abroad and its commitment to easing their hardships while supporting voluntary return programs and national stability.
