The United Arab Emirates has denied accusations made by Sudanese military authorities of involvement in the Sudanese war by supporting the Rapid Support Forces, saying the accusations are false.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Tuesday that “the Port Sudan Authority does not represent the legitimate government of Sudan, nor does it reflect the will of the Sudanese people.”
The statement added that “the authority controlling Port Sudan falsely claimed the UAE’s involvement in the ongoing conflict in Sudan, through alleged support for armed elements, without providing any evidence or documentation to substantiate the allegations.”
The statement continued, “These allegations, which lack any evidence, are nothing more than flimsy media maneuvers aimed at diverting attention from the direct responsibility of that authority in prolonging the civil war, which has now passed its second year, and thwarting all regional and international efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability in Sudan.”
He stated that international mechanisms have previously rejected these allegations, pointing to the decision of the International Court of Justice in The Hague, which rejected the lawsuit filed by Sudan against the UAE, in addition to the report of the Panel of Experts on Sudan issued on April 17, 2025, which did not include any conclusions or evidence against the UAE, according to the statement.
The statement emphasized that “all legal and international evidence demonstrates the falsity of these repeated accusations and proves the absence of any legal or factual basis for them.”
The UAE called on the international community to intensify its efforts and support a civilian-led political process, free from the dominance of either of the conflicting parties. It affirmed its commitment to supporting all efforts aimed at achieving an immediate ceasefire, protecting civilians, holding perpetrators of violations accountable, and working with international partners to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable solution that ends the conflict and paves the way for a transitional phase that reflects the aspirations of the Sudanese people.
The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Monday that the Sudanese government possesses all the documents and evidence proving the involvement of mercenaries in the Sudanese war, sponsored and funded by the UAE.
