The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, issued a decree on Wednesday appointing Ambassador Dafallah Al-Haj Ali as Minister of Cabinet Affairs and tasked with carrying out the Prime Minister’s duties.
Dafallah Al-Haj Ali Osman, who assumed the new position, served as Sudan’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He is a Sudanese diplomat who began his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1980.
He also served as Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2021 to 2023 and was also assigned as Al-Burhan’s Special Envoy on issues related to relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other countries.
Al-Burhan also approved the Cabinet’s decision to appoint Ambassador Omar Mohamed Ahmed Siddiq as Minister of Foreign Affairs and directed the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and relevant authorities to implement the decision.
Ambassador Omar Al-Siddiq served as Director of the European and American Department at the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and for a period as Executive Director of the Office of former Foreign Minister Mustafa Osman Ismail.
Al-Burhan also approved today the Cabinet decision appointing Al-Tahami Al-Zein Hajar Mohammed as Minister of Education. He directed the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and relevant authorities to implement the decision.
