Kordofan/White Nile, June 22 (Darfur24)
At least four civilians were killed and dozens injured on Sunday in a series of drone and artillery attacks that struck the cities of El Obeid, Kosti and Dilling, amid accusations that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) were responsible for the assaults.
In El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan State, one person was killed and at least six others injured after drones targeted several locations across the city.
Eyewitnesses and local sources told Darfur24 that drones struck sewage tankers parked west of El Obeid Stadium in Al-Quffa Market in two separate attacks. The first strike, at around 1:00 p.m., injured four people. A second attack at approximately 6:00 p.m. killed the driver of one of the tankers and wounded at least two others, who were taken for medical treatment.
Sources said the drones also targeted the army command headquarters east of the city, Al-Jeel Al-Raed School in Al-Qubba neighborhood, the Legislative Council building and El Obeid prison.
The attacks came days after Britain, Norway and other members of the Sudan Atrocities Prevention and Justice Coalition warned that any RSF assault on El Obeid could expose hundreds of thousands of civilians to the risk of mass atrocities.

In Kosti, White Nile State, a drone strike on the Al-Karimat Al-Zariba fuel station in the city’s popular market killed one person and injured about 15 others.
A medical source at Kosti Teaching Hospital told Darfur24 that the wounded suffered burns, shrapnel wounds and bleeding, with several reported to be in critical condition.
Local officials said the victim was locality employee Sadiq Abdullah Nasser, who was at the station when it was hit. Among the injured were four station workers, an army soldier and ten civilians.
Residents said the drone circled above the city before launching the attack, triggering panic among civilians and students attending nearby schools. Smoke was seen rising from the market area following the explosion.

Meanwhile, in Dilling, South Kordofan State, at least two civilians were killed and several others injured during a combined drone and artillery attack on the city.
Sources in Dilling market told Darfur24 that the dead included Muzammil Hasab Bakhit, after two suicide drones struck the market in the city center.
The attack reportedly began around midday and lasted for nearly two hours. In addition to the drone strikes, attackers fired 12 artillery shells, some of which landed inside the headquarters of the Sudanese army’s 54th Brigade, while others fell in nearby neighborhoods.
Residents reported widespread fear and panic as concerns grow over the increasing targeting of civilian areas.
Dilling, which remains under Sudanese army control, has repeatedly come under attack by drones and artillery attributed to the RSF and allied forces in recent months, resulting in numerous civilian casualties.
Since the outbreak of war in April 2023, drone warfare has become an increasingly prominent feature of the conflict. In May, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk said drone strikes had killed at least 880 civilians between January and April 2026, accounting for more than 80 percent of all conflict-related civilian deaths during that period.
