Port Sudan, February 18(Darfur24)
The Sudanese Foreign Ministry announced its regret over Kenya hosting the signing of the political charter to establish a parallel government in areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces RSF, saying that the move is tantamount to declaring hostility towards Sudan.
The Kenyan capital, Nairobi, is hosting meetings of Sudanese political forces to sign a political charter calling for the formation of a government in areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces, parallel to the Sudanese army government.
The Sudanese Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Kenya has disavowed its obligations under international law, the United Nations Charter, the African Union Constitutive Act, and the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide, by hosting the signing of the political agreement.
The statement indicated that the declared goal of the agreement is to establish a parallel government in part of Sudan, which means encouraging the division of African countries, violating their sovereignty, and interfering in their affairs.
Sudan government added that “the Kenyan government’s move is not only inconsistent with the rules of good neighborliness, but also contradicts the pledges made by Nairobi at the highest level not to allow hostile activities against Sudan on its territory.” The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the demonstration will have no impact on the ground, calling on the international community to condemn the Kenyan government’s behavior, saying that “it will take the necessary steps to restore things to their normal place.”
