January 26, 2025 Khartoum – Darfur 24 Sudan’s Chairperson of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, on Sunday, visited the General Command Headquarters in central Khartoum, two days after lifting the siege imposed by the Rapid Support Forces on it.
Al-Burhan was accompanied on the visit by member of the Sovereignty Council and his assistant in the Army, Yasser Al-Atta, the Director of the Defense Industries System, Mirghani Idris, and the Director of the General Intelligence Service, Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal.
Al-Burhan said, while addressing the Army Commanders in the presence of the Chief of Staff, Mohamed Osman Al-Hussein, that “the battle is in its final stages, its end is near, and our pledge to the Sudanese people is to fight these criminals until we defeat them, and we will pursue them everywhere in Sudan until they submit.”
He stressed that the Army is in the best condition, as its capabilities are developing every day in order to complete the war against the Rapid Support Forces.
He added: “We give good news to our citizens in the coming few days in Bahri and Omdurman, and what remains will be safe, and there is also a large advance towards Khartoum in the coming days to clean it.”
In the military operation it has been carrying out since late September 2024, the Army has made significant progress on the ground as it regained control of the cities of Sennar State and Wad Madani, the capital of El-Gezira State, in addition to vital sites in Khartoum Bahri and lifted the siege on the Signal Corps and the General Command.
