January 24, 2025 El-Daien – Darfur 24 A source close to Rapid Support Forces in the city of El-Daien, the Capital of East Darfur, who preferred to remain anonymous, revealed to “Darfur 24” that (6) young men were arrested by the Rapid Support Forces for chanting pro-Joint Forces slogans, repeating “Morale up”, before they pointed their weapons at the Official Spokesperson of Rapid Support Forces, Lieutenant Colonel El-Fatih Qurashi Bashir, during his visit to Abu-Karinka Locality, east of El-Daien, last week.

He stated that Rapid Support Forces transferred the (6) young men to the city of El-Daien under heavy guard, awaiting verdicts against them from RSF Legal Advisor in the State.

In turn, a relative of two young men who were detained by RSF in the city of El-Daien, who also preferred to remain anonymous, told Darfur 24 that the forces released Hamouda Mohamed Yousif and Mohamed Ahmed Yousif after being detained for more than a week.

He added: “They were arrested from the City of Abu-Karinka at the beginning of this month after they objected to the operation of a Health Center supported by one of the working organizations unless a number of them were employed, which led to the intervention of RSF and their arrest. After native mediation, they were released last Thursday.

RSF has controlled East Darfur State since November 2023, and in October 2024, a Civilian Government was announced to run the State.
