Sources reported that the 14th Division in Kadugli, affiliated with the Sudanese Armed Forces SAF, repelled an attack launched by SPLM forces led by Abdel Aziz Al-Hilu on the Al-Taqta’a and Al-Dashul areas in South Kordofan State on Monday morning.
Eyewitness Khaled Koko told Darfur 24 that the clashes occurred early on Monday morning when SPLM elements attacked the two areas in South Kordofan in an attempt to seize control.
Koko noted residents’ concerns about the impact of the clashes at this time on the agricultural season in the region, especially with the approaching rainy season.
Most of the local population depends on agriculture for their livelihoods, believing that the war is an impediment to their agricultural plans.
