More than 10 civilians were killed and others injured when a drone, believed to belong to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), struck the Nawafil fuel station in Naqli al-Abbasiya, South Kordofan State, while residents were queuing to buy fuel, local sources told Darfur24.
The sources said the attack occurred while the station was operating and crowded with civilians waiting to refuel their vehicles.
The targeting of fuel stations poses additional risks to civilians, particularly given the long queues and the reliance of essential services, including water supply and healthcare facilities, on fuel to operate equipment and provide services.
The casualty figures and responsibility for the attack could not be independently verified.
