Al-Nuhud, October 22 (Darfur24)
An armed force affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) abducted six civilians, including a village sheikh, in Al-Sharati village in Al-Nuhud locality, West Kordofan state, on Wednesday, local sources told Darfur24.
The sources said a force comprising five combat vehicles stormed the village market and fired shots before demanding the presence of the village sheikh, Abdullah Hussein, and abducting him.
As the force was leaving the village, its members stopped Ahmed Mohamed Khair Hamed, who was returning from his farm, assaulted him and took him away, the sources added.
They also abducted four sons of Al-Amin Abdul-Rahim: Ahmed, Yasser, Abdul-Rahim and Adam.
The sources said the fate of the six abductees remained unknown amid an ongoing campaign of arrests targeting young people in the area.
They linked the incident to a recent looting operation targeting RSF members, during which one member went missing.
The sources added that several rural areas in Al-Nuhud locality have witnessed repeated abductions of civilians, some of which have been followed by ransom demands for their release.
