Talodi/Al-Rahad, October 22 (Darfur24)
Four civilians were killed and at least six others injured on Thursday in two separate drone attacks targeting a gold mine in South Kordofan and a house in Al-Rahad, North Kordofan, local sources told Darfur24.
Sources in Talodi told Darfur24 that a drone struck the Al-Taqula gold mine in the locality, killing two civilians and injuring six others.
The mine is one of the major artisanal gold mining sites in South Kordofan, hosting numerous mining operations and processing facilities.
In a separate incident, Mohamed Kajo, a resident of Al-Rahad, told Darfur24 that a drone believed to belong to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) struck a house in the city centre, killing two civilians and injuring others.
Sudan’s war, which began in April 2023 between the Sudanese army and its allies and the RSF, has seen repeated drone attacks on military positions and civilian areas.
