Khartoum, April 30 (Darfur24)

Sudan’s Security and Defense Council reviewed the country’s security and military situation on Wednesday, praising army operations and pledging further measures to confront ongoing threats.

The meeting, chaired by Transitional Sovereignty Council head and army commander Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, was attended by all council members and focused on developments across battlefronts.

In a brief statement, Defense Minister Hassan Daoud Kapron said the council commended the performance of the armed forces and allied units, citing what he described as recent “victories” in the conflict.

He added that the council assessed operational readiness and military preparations to confront what he referred to as “rebels and mercenaries.”

Kapron said the council had agreed on “all necessary measures” to safeguard Sudan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and to protect civilians, without disclosing further details.
