Nyala, April 29 (Darfur24)
The Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS) on Monday convened the first session of its Regional Council in Nyala, marking a new step in building the governing structures of its self-declared administration.
The session followed the swearing-in of council members, part of a broader push to formalize institutions under what the alliance describes as the “Government of Peace.”
Al-Taher Hajar, a member of the alliance’s presidential body, announced the launch of the council’s first session after formally handing over the decision to its leadership, urging members to shoulder their responsibilities in the coming phase.
Council President Arno Ngutulu Lodi Aber said the oath-taking marked more than a procedural step, describing it as “a declaration of a new phase” in establishing governance structures based on decentralized authority.
He added that the alliance is committed to implementing its constitutional framework to “save the Sudanese people at this stage,” noting that the current legislative cycle will delegate political, administrative, financial, and legal powers to regional levels.
The formation of the council is part of a series of recent decisions by the alliance’s leadership and cabinet aimed at consolidating institutions tied to the parallel administration.
The Regional Council comprises 24 members, representing eight regions, with three representatives from each.
