The Sudanese Revolutionary Awakening Council announced on Sunday that Major General Al-Nur Ahmed Adam, known as “Al-Qubba,” has arrived in regions controlled by the Sudanese armed forces after defecting from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
In a statement seen by Darfur24, the council said Al-Qubba was accompanied by several officers and soldiers, as well as military vehicles and equipment. It described the move as a “national stance” reflecting a commitment to Sudan’s unity and stability.
The council added that the group arrived safely and that all arrangements related to their transfer had been completed.
“The joining of Al-Qubba and his companions supports efforts to strengthen national ranks and restore security,” the statement said.
The council also called on other RSF members to take similar steps, saying this would help end the conflict, protect civilians, and preserve national resources.
Al-Qubba had left his area in Al-Waha locality in North Darfur about a week earlier for an unknown destination, amid reports at the time that he intended to join the Sudanese army.
