Blue Nile, April 02 (Darfur24)
Field teams from the Displacement Tracking Matrix of the UN’s International Organization for Migration reported that about 1,725 people (345 families) were displaced from Qaisan town in Blue Nile State on March 30 due to worsening security and rising tensions.
The region has seen escalating clashes in recent days between the Sudanese army and allied forces of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the SPLM-N. The “TASIS” alliance recently announced control of Kurmuk, while the army said it repelled an attack near Damazin earlier this week.
According to the report, displaced families fled to Al-Rusayris and Wad Al-Mahi localities in search of safety, amid continued instability.
The latest displacement follows a similar wave on March 25 in the same area, highlighting a rapidly worsening situation.
Field teams have warned that conditions remain highly fragile and stated that they will continue to monitor displacement trends across the region.
