A three-year-old child died on Monday after a fire broke out at Azhari Al-Mubarak camp in the Al-Afad area, about 15 kilometers from Al-Dabba in Northern State, according to local sources.
The blaze destroyed several tents sheltering displaced families and caused حالات suffocation and panic among residents, particularly women and children, before civil defense teams brought it under control.
The camp hosts thousands of people displaced from North Darfur and Kordofan following recent fighting.
Local officials said the fire was quickly contained, but left behind material losses and psychological trauma among residents.
