Krenk, March 18 (Darfur24)
Four people were killed and others injured in tribal clashes that erupted in the Qalala area of Krink locality in West Darfur State, marking a new escalation of violence in the region.
Sources told Darfur24 that the fighting broke out between two groups from the Rizeigat tribe following a dispute among several youth, before quickly escalating into armed clashes that resulted in casualties on both sides.
The sources confirmed at least four deaths, with several others injured, though no confirmed toll of the wounded was immediately available.
Following the clashes, security authorities deployed military forces to the area, working to separate the two groups and prevent further fighting.
In response, a delegation of local administration officials and community leaders arrived in the area and initiated mediation efforts aimed at containing the crisis and addressing its underlying causes.
The incident comes amid fragile security conditions in West Darfur, where recurring local conflicts continue to pose a threat to stability across several areas.
