Dilling, February 1(Darfur24)

Sources reported on Sunday that a drone, believed to be affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces( RSF) and their ally, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), bombed the main market in Dilling, South Kordofan State, killing at least one person.

Sources told Darfur24 that the bombing killed Sharif Aboud, a man with special needs, who was well-known in Dilling for his work at the public transportation hub, where he spent most of his time serving citizens and assisting passengers.

The sources indicated that the drone targeted civilian gatherings inside the Dilling market during peak hours, causing widespread panic and terror among the residents.

Eyewitnesses explained that the attack targeted a purely civilian area with no military sites nearby, leading to the disruption of activity in the market and the closure of several shops, while residents rushed to seek safe havens for fear of renewed attacks.

On January 26, the army announced the lifting of the siege on Dilling after its forces reached the city from Hebeila, which had been under the control of the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North.

Since then, drone attacks on the city have continued, resulting in dozens of deaths and injuries.
