The European Union has announced new sanctions against seven individuals linked to the conflict in Sudan, including five members of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and two figures affiliated with forces supporting the Sudanese army.
According to the EU decision, those sanctioned from the Rapid Support Forces include Al-Qouni Hamdan Dagalo, brother of RSF commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti); Al-Fatih Abdullah Idris, known as “Abu Lulu”; Al-Tijani Ibrahim Musa; Jadu Hamdan Ahmed Abu Shouk, the RSF commander in North Darfur; and Idris Kafout.
The sanctions also targeted Misbah Abu Zaid Talha, leader of the Al-Baraa Bin Malik group, which fights alongside the Sudanese army, as well as Al-Tayeb Imam Joda, the emir of the Al-Kawahla Al-Nafidiya tribe in White Nile State and one of the leaders of the popular resistance forces supporting the army.
