Two young men were killed on New Year’s Eve after unknown gunmen opened fire on them under mysterious circumstances in Al-Daein, the capital of East Darfur State, eyewitnesses said.
The victims were identified as Madbo Musa Barsham and his friend Mohammed Ajah.
Eyewitnesses told Darfur24 that the shooting occurred at around 10:30 p.m. in the Al-Salam neighborhood of Al-Daein. After hearing gunfire, residents went into the street and found the two men dead inside a parked “Click” vehicle, their bodies bearing gunshot wounds.
Local sources said the victims were well known in the city and jointly operated a business in Al-Daein’s main market.
