Adré, December 30 (Darfur24)
Sudanese refugees in the Chadian city of Adré celebrated the second anniversary of the “For You” initiative’s clinic, which continues to provide essential medical services to refugees and the local host community.
Operating within the temporary Adré camp, the clinic offers comprehensive healthcare, including primary care, women’s health, obstetrics, pediatrics, follow-ups for patients with chronic conditions, and routine check-ups. These services have contributed to improving the general health and well-being of the camp’s residents.
Mohammed Khalil, coordinator of the initiative, told Darfur24 that the clinic is the result of dedicated efforts by Sudanese volunteers specializing in health care. He said the initiative was established to address the severe shortage of medical services in the camps and aims to expand its work to serve all refugee settlements in the region.
Prince Asaad Abdul Rahman Bahr Al-Din praised the humanitarian efforts, emphasizing that the clinic’s services have significantly improved living conditions for both refugees and the host community.
The celebration highlights the ongoing challenges faced by more than 800,000 Sudanese refugees living in eastern Chad under difficult conditions. The initiative has become a model of cooperation and humanitarian work, focusing on meeting basic needs and improving the lives of those affected by conflict.
