Khartoum, December 28(Darfur24)
The Sudanese army and the Sudanese Founding Alliance Forces have exchanged accusations on Saturday regarding a drone attack on a Chadian military site that killed two Chadian soldiers and wounded one .
A military site in the town of Al-Tina, in Chad’s Ouaddaï region, was attacked by a drone on Friday.
The Sudanese Armed Forces spokesperson’s office, in a statement obtained by Darfur24, said that the Armed Forces had spotted the targeting of the Al-Tina garrison in Chad by a drone belonging to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which resulted in the death of two Chadian Armed Forces soldiers.
The statement explained that the army extends its deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to the leadership and people of Chad and to the families of the victims, declaring its solidarity with N’Djamena in confronting all threats to the security and stability of the region.
The statement indicated that the Sudanese Al-Tina region is under the control of the army, where civilian and security state institutions operate regularly, and no hostile activities have been recorded from it towards the territory of neighboring countries.
It emphasized that the RSF has consistently used drones to carry out cross-border hostile acts in an attempt to create tensions between Sudan and its neighbors.
The statement called for activating the mechanisms of coordination and joint cooperation between Sudan and Chad, particularly the joint forces and border security committees, to ensure border control.
For its part, the RSF said in a statement that it is closely monitoring the army’s continued attempts to incite strife, and escalate tensions along the border with the Republic of Chad.
The statement indicated that some media outlets loyal to the army published misleading reports claiming that its forces targeted a garrison belonging to the Chadian state, confirming that the attack on the Al-Tina area was carried out by army aircraft.
The statement added that the forces are committed to strong and stable relations with all neighboring countries, especially the Republic of Chad, in a manner that serves shared security, peace, and stability.
