Eyewitnesses reported on Monday that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) transferred dozens of detained and captured civilians from the city of Al-Nuhud in West Kordofan State to Al-Daein in East Darfur State.
Witnesses told Darfur24 that they “saw two Land Cruiser pickup trucks carrying blindfolded detainees in civilian clothing, many of whom showed visible signs of torture.” They added that the vehicles entered Al-Daein after traveling from Al-Nuhud.
Security sources confirmed to Darfur24 that the RSF has been gathering hundreds of civilian detainees and prisoners from conflict-affected areas in Kordofan and holding them in Al-Nuhud, ahead of transferring them to Darfur.
The RSF has continued to arrest civilians on accusations of collaborating or spying for the Sudanese army. While some detainees are released after brief interrogations, others remain in custody for extended periods.
